The Dream of a New Cultural Center

We have a dream of a new cultural center to expand on our existing historic museum housed in the Historic Macedonia Church. Our idea is to build a complex to surround the church. This new cultural center complex would not only expand the existing GHMCC but also the resources and cultural programming offered to the Gifford community.

In April 2021, we brought the idea and a request for land appropriation for the new center to the Indian River County Board of Commissioners. At that meeting, the board issued an official proclamation in support of the new Gifford Cultural Center.

We are now on our way to making this dream a reality. We are currently in the initial planning phase, working to engage the expertise of The Lord Group for master project planning. This phase is vital to preparing for the structural/facilities design and build phase - which will be fleshed out during the formal public Gifford Cultural Center Charet scheduled to take place in the summer of 2021.

Faces of Eve Collaborative’s Fundraising Campaign

The Faces of Eve Collaborative, dedicated to celebrate and support the brilliant ideas of women in our community, learned of our dream during monthly collaborative’s meetings on Zoom in mid 2020. They decided at that time to make the new Gifford Cultural Center their next project. They partnered with us to help with marketing, fundraising and planning. They’re first initiative was an email and social media GHMCC membership drive. The purpose was not only to raise funds but also to garner community-wide support, as we prepared to request land appropriation for the center from the Indian River County Board of Commissioners.

The next phase in the collaborative’s fundraising efforts is to dedicate the net proceeds from the sponsorship and sales of the Faces of Eve Art Book to fund the master project planning phase of the project.

Specifically, our fundraising campaign is designed to raise the initial $80,000 required to engage expertise for master project planning. This phase is vital to preparing for the structural/facilities design and build phase.

We have a limited number of books available for pre-order. The Donate button below will take you to our Rally Up fundraising campaign for the new Gifford Cultural Center Project. Books can be pre-ordered for $85 per book.

If this project resonates with you, we invite you to donate at one of several sponsorship levels in order to help us reach our fundraising goal. Each level includes one book. Depending on your sponsorship level, your name will appear in a beautiful vellum insert that will go into every book

We sincerely appreciate donations in any amount. We hope you’ll consider donating generously to this most worthy cause!
